System software V1.1.6.0 - Good bye web GUI timeouts
Posted by: Armin@netPI - May-6th-2019, 09:49 AM - Forum: News - No Replies

A new version of netPI's system software is out!

The new version V1.1.6.0 brings you an extended timeout value for all kinds of TCP/IP communications from and to netPI's web GUI.

Reports such as timeout during pulling an image, deploying a container or using portainer.io's embedded console are history now.

You find the new system software ready for your download in the download section here: https://www.netiot.com/netpi/industrial-raspberry-pi-3/

  [SOLVED] WebConfig netpi-nodered-fieldbus
Posted by: JohnyD94 - May-4th-2019, 06:38 PM - Forum: Software - Replies (13)

I’ve installed «netpi-nodered-fieldbus» on my docker, but I have two problems now:
1.)   There are no “fieldbus” nodes in my nodeRED editor.
2.)   I can’t access the webconfig page for fieldbus on Port 9000. I always get the Error “cannot GET /”.

According to the container log, the WebConfigurator has been started.

Over the last few hours I tried several things, but nothing changed.

Thank you in advance and kind regards
Hans Dieter

MTBF values for netPI RTE 3 and netPI CORE 3 available
Posted by: Armin@netPI - April-30th-2019, 08:24 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Today I am happy to tell you that our devices netPI RTE 3 and CORE 3 were undergoing an MTBF (Mean time between failures) reliability calculation.

The values can be received on demand. Please send me a private message in this forum to request them.

Thumbs Up [SOLVED] Can netPI RTE3 support bluetooth?
Posted by: firefly - April-30th-2019, 07:44 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

I find the below info from github.
Sources of Dockerfile generated Docker image "Debian with SSH, dbus and latest bluez bluetooth stack" for Hilscher’s netPI.
Base of this image builds debian with enabled SSH, a source code compiled bluez stack bluez and firmware for the onboard BCM bluetooth chip BCM43438.
We have the below problem.
1.Can NetPI RTE3 support bluetooth?
2.Can use the above bluetooth sorce code?

Is there a demand for a RS422 interface?
Posted by: Armin@netPI - April-29th-2019, 10:58 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

This time I want to raise a question to the community related to a new developement I have in mind, but I am little indecisive.

Is there a demand on the market for an RS422 interface for netPI?

And if yes how much is the potential/year you personally see for a business you have in mind?

I would like to understand better the specifications of the NPIX-4DI4DO module.
Is there a technical specification or datasheet of the module?

These output ports are dry contacts, i.e., voltage / potential free ?

Thank you

  niot-e-npi3-51-en (RS485 <-> Industrial Ethernet)
Posted by: merklethomas - April-12th-2019, 03:52 PM - Forum: Software - Replies (6)

1. Wir wollen den niot-e-npi3-51-en als RS485 <-> EtherCAT/ProfiNET/Ethernet-IP Konverter/Gateway nutzen.

Google translator:
(1. We want to use the niot-e-npi3-51-en as RS485 <-> EtherCAT / ProfiNET / Ethernet-IP converter / gateway.
We currently use HMS Anybus gateways to convert RS485 data. Master is a robot
or a higher-level PLC.
How can I, for example, Create PDOs on the device, e.g. 16 bytes input and 20 bytes output?

2. Later, an OPC UA server is to be installed on the device (-> Docker?), Which transmits the RS485 data via Ethernet
an external OPC UA client reading provides.

3. The device has only one RS port, either 232 OR 485. How can I implement both (RS232 and RS485)?)

New Container example "OPC UA server"
Posted by: Armin@netPI - April-12th-2019, 11:51 AM - Forum: Software - No Replies

We have been creating a new netPI example container OPC UA Server.

The container is based on the open62541 project - the open source C (C99) implementation of OPC UA.

It comes with a small web frontend to be able to upload an XML nodeset file that is transformed/compiled online into a running OPC UA server.

Please understand this container as an example of how the open62541 project could be implemented in own applications. In no way this container should be used in real applications since it does not support security. This would need further investigations and recompilation of the OPC UA library as state here: https://open62541.org/doc/current/building.html

Detecting NetPI in Siemens TIA via Profinet
Posted by: andrewc - April-10th-2019, 07:58 PM - Forum: Software - Replies (3)

Hello all,

I would like to build a script to subscribe to a memory address in my Siemens PLC via Profinet.

I am currently running the example Profinet code (https://github.com/HilscherAutomation/ne...g-examples) on my NetPI, but I can't detect the NetPI in TIA.

Anyone done anything similar?
