Can the netPi be connected to a CAN bus? I'd like to collect data from the bus and send it to an IoT server, and the netPi would be perfect -- if it can access the bus, that is. Haven't found anything on the net so far, apart from a video showing the CANopen logo for a few seconds in an overview image...

Hi there,
we have currently an NPIX-CAN module under development. This module can be inserted into netPIs bottom slot and extends netPI by a single CAN interface.
It is more or less the same circuit as used on this type of module designed for the original PI:
http://skpang.co.uk/catalog/pican2-canbu...-1475.html. But instead of a D-SUB9 connector our module will get a 5 pin combicon terminal connector with two retaining screws left and right.
The release date is scheduled march 2019.
Thx
Armin

Short update: We have shown the CAN module on the SPS trade show two weeks ago in Nuremberg, Germany. The software tests are finished. Now we need to qualify the module concerning the EMC test etc.

EMC tests passed successfully. We are now ordering the first batch of printed circuit boards. Release date will be in about 6 weeks.
