Simulation of Powerlink Devices
#11
Hello Armin,

thanks for reply. I read the wrong line. Netx52 SPI is possible upto 125MHz.

Another question to netPI:
is PREEMPT_RT enabled in Linux or is it possible to enable them from your side?
Because we only want to use them and not to manipulate them in detail.

Thanks
Stefan

The Linux Kernel 4.9 used on netPI have the RT patched enabled by default.

There is no confiiguration needed from your side.

Hello Armin,

i just got a new information about the situation: opensafety over hilscher-Powerlink

in the past, I got the information, with the hilscher powerlink card I cannot use opensafety. So we decided to use hms cards.

Now I got a tip: https://www.computer-automation.de/steue...14799.html
So I think opensafety over netx52 shall be possible.
Shall this be right?

Thanks for your response

Well this forum does not cover netX chip specific topics ... so I don't know anything about supporting opensafety on netx52 unfortunately.

I can say that netPI gateway device or netFIELD Connect gateway device in no way support safety just from the hardware design point of view.

I recommend to ask the standard hilscher support team with this contact form https://www.hilscher.com/de/support/kontakt/

As far as I know in the end Hilscher never released any safety board with netX technology. But I may be wrong.
