Yes this is possible.
The portainer.io used on netPI has an officially documented API that you can reach also via http clients such as "curl" from inside a container ... the container then is doing the same job as if a human uses a web browser and clicking the portainer.io buttons.
There is an interesting thread for you worth it to read: https://forum.hilscher.com/Thread-netPI-...s-V1-1-4-0. There is also a Node-Red flow appended that show you how to interact with the portainers.io's API.
