Node-RED log location - SteveO - May-11th-2020

On a netPI when a Node-RED node is installed through manage palette and the installation fails, where can the error log be viewed?

RE: Node-RED log location - Armin@netPI - May-11th-2020

Well Steve,

Node-RED is an app that doesn't care on which hardware it is running run. So the very same question can be raised without highlighting the netPI device specifically at this point.

So Node-RED runs on netPI as good as on your Windows PC at home if you install it there. All over the world the same. Precondition is of course staying with the same version.

I mention all this because the question can be passed back to the Node-RED development team. So hey "Node-RED team, if an installation fails using the palette function, can one see the log file?"

I am sorry Steve I am not a Node-RED development member nor have I read the manual of all the version. I dont' know the answer.

The only fact I can return back to you is that the Node-RED container we offer here https://hub.docker.com/r/hilschernetpi/netpi-nodered uses the very latest version of Node-RED 1.0.6 and nobody can have a better version than that. So try it yourself and install a node and give feedback for all members of this forum please.

Thx
Armin
