[SOLVED] Access problems - Azzamjj - November-27th-2018

Hello ,

I can't seem to access my netPi anymore so I'm trying to reset it to factory setting using several USB sticks but can't seem to get
through. Node red got blocked and i couldn't delete the flows so i tried getting back to factory setting but now i can neither access the
device properly nor reset it.

what can I still do?

 Thanks,

Azzam

Well what you can always do is connecting a display to the HDMI connector and watch the boot procedure of the device. There you can see if the USB sticks (with/without) is recognized.
Plese full format the FAT32 file system ... the best is doing that untr Linux (if you have). Quick Format usuall don't work.
Also make sure you named the USB volume correctly to value RECOVERY. Else it will not be recognized at all.

By the way which device exactl are you using. What is the name of your device on th label. Maybe you are using the wrong software for the wrong device. Make sure you exctract the software 1.1.3.0 files provided on the netPI web site before you put them on the USB.

Thx
Armin

So this is the error i'm getting any Idea how to fix it?

RE: Access problems - Armin@netPI - November-27th-2018

Is this all in the screenshot what your netPI is reporting?

How about if you insert the USB stick into one of the slots?

Normally netPI prints out the USB devices found in the log file.

yes this is all my netPI is reporting and sure the USB Stick was already inserted.

RE: Access problems - Armin@netPI - November-27th-2018

Ok and how is the screen shot in case you do not apply the USB stick. The same?

It did print out the log files of the USB stick but then entered another window as shown in the screen shot.
Any suggestion?

Thank you in advance !

If i don't insert a USB Stick it goes directly to this same dialouge

So basicly this is what I'm getting.

 Thanks again

RE: Access problems - Armin@netPI - November-27th-2018

So your netPI is not dead and basically alive. If I see your first of three screen shots I see a term like "4 USB devices found" right at the beginning. This term should change in case a USB stick is inserted with RECOVERY volume label to a value "5 USB devices found". Is it?

Then the log comes to a point where it says "reading fit image". If a valid image was found on the USB stick it says the same but tell you it is booting from USB instead of mmc0. I can't tell exactly since I am not in the office and cannot reproduce it this week. But does it?

[SOLVED] Access problems - Armin@netPI - January-25th-2019

Contrary to the assumption you had a netPI device, we have recognized your device as Edge Gateway named "Connect" when you returned it to us.

These type of devices and of course netPI are supporting you on communications at the IT/OT edge. But our Edge Gateways have plenty of software more installed than plain Docker as on netPI. This offers you indeed multiple vectors to get such a device into a non-bootable state which was the root cause of your problem.

We sent you back a replacement device.

Thx
