[SOLVED] Custom Linux (Ubuntu container)

Hello Armin,

Below are some queries -

1] Can customer install Ubuntu version / Centos 63 OS on netPI?customer is working with these.
2] We demonsrted NPIX DI/DO, but customer is asking for 16/8 Digital Input module...how is this possible?
3] Is there possibility to increase Flash?
4] Is it possible to change IP addres of netPI through Console?
5] Customer has his own application whre he stores data into some database, now if with netPI the application container is restarted then how the database is treated, it will be saved?
6] Can Hilscher create/develop container image for customer?

Hello Madhumati,

please read this thread https://forum.hilscher.com/Thread-INFO-1...ed-SD-card about custom software on netPI. He can do what he wants with this device.

Concerning your question about 16/8 DI/DO there is no space left to put this number of IOs onto the very small NPIX PCBA size. So there is no solution. We just got 4/4 managed on the PBCA, not more.

Hi Armin,

I just again talked with the customer, he wants to install Docker image for Ubuntu on netPI for his application. He will develop the container image at his own.Hope this is possible with netPI

Also he does not want Bare Metal netPI option.

Hello Madhumati,

for a very simple test - prior developing his own container - he can start deploying the ready to use Docker Container "ubuntu" available here already: https://hub.docker.com/r/arm32v7/ubuntu/ which is compiled for ARMV7 CPUs (Raspberry CPU).

If you have no netPI already bought you can always start with pretests using a standard Raspberry Pi 3B at $30 costs. If the ubuntu container is running on a Raspberry PI 3B then it will run on netPI later also.
